In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus outlines the mission for His followers and establishes our identity and purpose as a church: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Personal Ministries is about people caring for the needs of others. and the Personal Ministries Council provides supervisory direction and coordination for all outreach ministries of the Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through training and support services with seminars, events, and programs, the department assists members in their Christ-ordained work of helping friends, coworkers, family members, and the local community know of Jesus’ love through selfless service. Its goal is to see every member of our church involved in and excited about sharing the good news of the gospel, the redemptive wisdom of God’s truth, and the hope Christ’s soon return.

Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church outreach ministries:  Prayer Ministry - A church faithful to the Bible is a praying church that recognizes prayer is essential to a life of Christian discipleship. The Prayer Ministry seeks to foster a house of prayer with passion for the lost as directed in Luke 19:10, to link believers in prayer for renewal and evangelism, and provide intercessory prayer for the needs of both members and non members alike.

Literature Distribution Ministry The Literature Ministry team will seek to generate interest in the surrounding community for the study of God’s word and proclaim, through print media, the gospel of hope to the community of Wilmington. Seventh-day Adventist churches believe that one of the ordained methods we can employ to carry out the Great Gospel Commission of Jesus is“ to give away Bible-based gospel literature, defined as tracts, books, magazines, and DVD’s, scattering these publications like the leaves of autumn. Literature distribution is a faithful partner in evangelism. God uses the printed word to impress the minds of people seeking truth, building their faith exhorting them to live a lifestyle in accordance with the teachings of Jesus.

Health Ministry Health Ministry is an intentional ministry to encourage health awareness and personal responsibility for wellness. A Biblical Church will empower individuals to realize the abundant life in Jesus described in John 10:10, who came “that we may have life, and have it abundantly,” and encourage and support the promotion of health and wholeness in the community. The community is invited to attend the popular health seminar entitled, Taste of Health, that meets at the church the 3rd Sunday of each month, March - October, at 4 p.m. This series of 8 seminars features the natural health benefits of whole-food, plant-based nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, fresh air, rest, and spiritual renewal. Each program offers vegan cooking demonstrations, a delicious buffet, recipes, and health lecture, provided as a free community service.

Personal Bible Study Ministry We believe God has given every Christian the privilege of sharing what Jesus has done for him or her as directed in the Gospel Commission of Matthew 28:19-20,. Thus, each Christian is an essential part of God’s plan to reveal His truth to the world. Bible Study Ministry teams, working in collaboration with the Literature, Health, and Community Service ministries, desire to find individuals who are seeking hope through a personal relationship with a living God and loving Savior, and nurture them into discipleship in preparation for His soon return. Trained teams make personal friendship visits to those interests, and be prepared to offer prayer, answer questions regarding Bible study, and present an opportunity to study a series of Bible lessons with a private Bible instructor, in a small group, via internet, or receive lessons by mail.
